School Placement Process Begins for 2025
Parents and guardians in Gauteng will start receiving school placement offers for Grades 1 and 8 learners starting today, with the process continuing throughout the year.
According to Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane, over 800,000 applications were received, and of those, more than 300,000 were complete.
The department has capacity for over 400,000 applicants, ensuring that all learners will have a place in a school.
Parents will be notified via SMS and have seven days to accept offers. Once a final offer is accepted, the placement is confirmed and cannot be reversed.
The department is committed to placing every learner, despite some incomplete applications.
