A 29-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl
Northam Police have arrested a 29-year-old male for raping a 15-year-old girl over the weekend. The girl was at the tarven with her boyfriend and two friends drinking beer in Northam outside Thabazimbi in Waterberg District. On the same night they all left the tarven drunk and went to sleep at one of the friend's house in the same room.
Allegedly the boyfriend of the victim woke up in the morning and left her asleep. The girl said that she was surprised in the morning at around 05:00 to find another man slept with her, while he was naked and she was also naked and felt like she had sexual intercourse without consent as she was drunk. A case of rape was reported at Northam Station and the suspect was nabbed. The suspect will appear before Northam Magistrate's court today.
" Parents and guardians are continuously urged to take extra care for their children to curb the scourge of sexual related offences especially against the children," concluded Major General Jan Scheepers.
