Bogus goods worth over R8 million were snatched by police at Marabastad in Pretoria
It is alleged that counterfeit goods worth over R8 million were quickly seized and 12 undocumented suspects were arrested by Pretoria SAPS at Marabastad during a police raid.
The SAPS' National Counterfeit Unit led a team comprising SAPS members from various specialized units, officials from the Department of Home Affairs (DHA), South African Revenue Services (SARS), Brand Protectors, and security officers during this operation.
The operation derives from the capture of bogus items such as clothing apparel, shoes, caps, and bags. Two weeks back the team grasped fake goods to the value of R13 million during a takedown operation in the Johannesburg CBD.
