The remainings 45 Botswanans who died in a brutal bus crash at Mamatlakala bridge will be repatriated
It has been a long, exhausting, and equally traumatic journey to the team. However, we are comforted by the fact that the families will finally get their loved ones ," said Dr Ramathuba
It is alleged that the Limpopo Health MEC, Dr. Phophi Ramathuba will lead team in the process of returning the remains of 45 Botswanans to Polokwane International Airport tomorrow. The remains belong to the individuals who lost their lives in a brutal bus accident last month at the Mamatlakala bridge on the R518, with only one survivor.
A dedicated multidisciplinary team, including the SAPS victim identification unit, the Biology Division of the Forensic Science Laboratory Unit, Forensic Pathology Services, and their Botswana counterparts, worked tirelessly from the day of the accident to recover and properly identify human remains by DNA Processing. This careful process ensures that human remains are returned to their respective families.
Dr Phophi Ramathuba, together with the High Commissioner of Botswana, Mr Sanji Monaeng, and other dignitaries will attend a prayer service tomorrow at Polokwane International Airport (Polokwane Municipality, Capricorn District)
