Meet Serepo Mashoto – an ambitious young author from Gamasemola Manare

Serepo Mashoto is a 16-year-old author and grade 12 learner at Rantobeng Secondary School. She's currently residing at Gamasemola Manare. 

" Through writing I receive healing and I can heal others through my writings. Writing is my number one therapist which doesn't cost any cent. A therapist that mends my heart to a point where I feel no pain, my therapist that doesn't judge me but instead becomes my shoulder to cry on," Mashoto said. 

Mashoto inspiration behind writing is the voice to the voiceless. She have seen many people being silenced but through her writings she aim to be the voice for the voiceless. She alert every single person who has been silenced that it is about time they let their empty voices speak.

Serepo write all kind of books such as poetry, novels, children's books, and documentaries. 

" Mostly I write what I could relate to as well as writing according to my mood. It may happen that I may wake up on top of the world meaning that, I will write  something related to my happy mood," she added. 

She got inspired by Mashao MJ, Elliot Muzui and Thabiso Ramoshaba. This authors know how to tackle and arrange their words. Their writings are out of this world. She just love the way their writings are so meaningful and motivational.

" I can't really be specific to say who inspires me because I look up to every single writer since every writer has their own way of writing. Through every writer's art I gain something new," She concluded.
