The Limpopo provincial commissioner have lashed out following the shooting and killing of a security officer and the discovery of a body with gunshot wounds

According to the report, Limpopo provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has lashed out at the increase in shootings after the body of a man was found dumped in the bushes, with fatal gunshot wounds. In another incident, a security officer was shot by another security officer at the Groblersdal Port of Entry.

Police investigations indicated that, the victim, whose identity is unknown, was discovered at Khalavha Lunangani village in Siloam in Vhembe District.  This tragic incident marks yet another senseless act of violence plaguing our communities.

Responding to this shocking crime, the Provincial Commissioner reiterated the commitment of law enforcement agencies to swiftly bring perpetrators to justice.

 Police found the body of an unidentified man savagely shot multiple times. The deceased is believed to be in his thirties and was wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and one pair of Nike shoes. He also had a belt around his neck.

 A murder case has been opened, and the motive for the brutal murder remains under police investigation.

 A 36-year-old male security officer has allegedly been arrested after he shot another male security officer (28), employed by a different companies after the two had a heated argument at Groblersburg Port of Entry in the Tomburke police precinct.  The victim was transported to the hospital where he died on arrival. The two officers reportedly work for companies responsible for escorting heavy trucks. Police are still investigating a motive for the tragic incident.

 "We will leave no stone unturned in our efforts to arrest those responsible for this heinous act," said Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe.  "Such brazen acts of violence will not be tolerated, and we will work tirelessly to ensure that perpetrators are faced with the full force of the law."

Police are urging anyone with information relating to the Siloam incident including information that could help identify the deceased to contact investigating officer Sergeant Collen Sinyosi on 082 058 0064 or call Crime Stop  08600 10111 or the nearest Police Station or use the MYSAPSApp.


The police investigation is ongoing.
