Thousands of Western Cape residents are without electricity and shelter after heavy rains caused by the strong sea waves
Many areas in the Western Cape are still without electricity after heavy flooding caused by heavy rains and strong sea waves over the weekend. Eleven people have died and thousands are homeless.
The floods have caused heavy damage in the towns. Clean-up work is ongoing in the province. Western Cape transport executive councilor Ricardo Mckenzi says some areas are still without electricity, as they have to wait for water to be reduced.
