A 41-year-old man killed his two sons by hanging them and also committed suicide at Mphephu village in Venda
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Province Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe says he is deeply saddened by the tragedy that occurred in Mapakophele village in Mphephu in the Vhembe region, where a 41-year-old man killed his two two sons by hanging them.
According to reports, on the morning of Tuesday 26 September, at half past six o'clock (06:30) , the villagers called the police after finding the body of the Man who is the Father of the Children hanging under a tree in the village of Mapakophele. At the scene they also found the bodies of his sons, aged seven (7) and four (4) hanging from a tree in the forest.
It is understood that the bodies of the children, had horrible wounds, and nearby, a panga-type weapon was found which was apparently used to kill the them.
Police have opened a Murder Case ,and investigations are currently ongoing.
